The pitahaya is also known as the dragon fruit. It belongs to the cactus family. The fruit has an oval shape with protruding formations. The skin is thick, soft and of color that goes from green to yellow while it matures. The pulp is grayish-white with innumerable small edible seeds, black in color. The taste is very sweet, sweeter than the red pitaya.
