Known by many names, its tree is part of the Annonaceae family which grows in many tropical countries. The Guanabana or Soursop is a fruit that on average weighs 2.9 kg, of which 75.6% correspond to pulp, 4.8% seeds, 12.7% peel and 6.9% the rachis. Its pulp is sweet with a slight sour taste, with around 17.2 degrees Brix and on average 171 seeds per fruit. It is said that the Soursop is a fruit that cures cancer and has been used to fight this disease for the past 40 years in the USA, Europe and Asia.
